Shay Gladwin MSW, LMHC (ON LEAVE)
Shay believes the most critical aspect of any therapeutic relationship is forming a rapport of trust and respect. Her goal while meeting with clients is to create a unit that leads clients to find the confidence to be their authentic selves. Shay's experiences have involved working with teenagers, and adults. No matter the age, she wants to help her clients find peace and acceptance in themselves. Either through life's daily struggles, or something specific, sometimes we find ourselves in a place where we no longer feel like we are the ones in control. Shay wants to identify and build upon strengths to help discover the necessary skills to find balance.
She specializes in working with teenagers and adults with eating disorders of all kinds, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and body image issues. She has an extensive background in working with body-mind connections to help issues related to trauma, eating disorders, and other maladaptive behavior patterns. This work includes implementing bio and neurofeedback techniques, CBT, DBT, EMDR, and other therapy modalities. Shay emphasizes the importance of allowing there to be space for all your needs, no matter how big or small. In addition to her clinical skills, Shay utilizes Della (therapy dog) in her sessions. She is excited to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space in which your therapy journey can start.
