Individual Counseling
Everyone experiences stress - it is inevitable. However, stress can sometimes hinder our capacity to cope, and we may feel a sense of loneliness, disconnect, and frustration. Symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger, and can develop leaving us feeling hopeless and overwhelmed.
We all react to stress differently. Occasionally, life stressors leave you feeling raw, hurt, angry, and tired. Stress may be impacting your work, school, and/or relationships, causing discord and isolation. The triggering event may be current or an unresolved issue from your past.
Psychotherapy (talk therapy or counseling) is a technique used to explore your feelings, process challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of your life that you wish to change, make personal goals, and improve your overall well being. Techniques may be incorporated to challenge thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that potentially contribute to depression and anxiety. The integration of counseling techniques allows you to experience deeper and more meaningful change to occur in your life.
Please note: Depression and anxiety are complex, and sometimes biology is a component of the problem. We collaborate with physicians and psychiatrists for medication management when appropriate.
